Mangalore 19th August 2008: A new branch of Mangalore Diocesan Women Association was inaugurated at Kota Parish by the diocesan director for Women Association Rev. Dr Ronald Cutinha on August 10, 2008 in the presence of the Parochial Administrator Rev. Maxim Furtado and diocesan Women Association President Mrs Leena Roche of Brahmavar at Kota Church Hall.


Mrs Leena Roche president of Mangalore gave the introductory guidelines followed by the message from Rev. Fr Maxim Furtado.  In his speech he assured his whole-hearted support to the Association activities.  Later, election for the office bearers was conducted in which the following were elected for a term of 3 years.
1.  Mrs Nora D’Souza – President
2.  Mrs Olympia Lazarus – Secretary
3.  Mrs Janet Fernandes – Treasurer
4.  Mrs Lolita Dias – Varado Representative
5.  Mrs Saira Quadras – News Bulletin Jaagran Representative
Dr Ronald Cutinha conducted the training on ‘Need and Importance of Women Association’ in which he high lighted the unity, co-operation, commitment and sacrifice of the members.  He explained the strategies and methods of keeping an association alive and active.  39 women resolved to Build an Effective Women Association at Kota parish.
