Mangalore 1st September 2009: Samanvaya Mangalore along with the women Associations of the City, Episcopal, Mangalore Southern, Bantwal and Pezar Deaneries of Mangalore diocese had organized a workshop on Women Resource Persons at the Milagres-Mangalore Church Hall on August 30, 2009.



 
The president of Mangalore Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW) Mrs.Leena Roche of Brahmavar, inaugurated the workshop. She also presented her plan of formation of a women resource cell by training at least 100 potential women of Mangalore diocese into expert resource persons.


 
Rev.Dr.Ronald Cutinha the director of Samanvaya as well as DCCW and Sr.Mabel D’souza, the women co-ordinator of Samanvaya were the resource persons of the workshop.  The input of the workshop dealt with the sub themes like, requirements of a good resource person, method of collection of resource material and need of communication skills for effective delivery of the contents.  Group discussions and plenary sessions made the workshop lively.  There was an added input on writing clear, effective, unbiased reports to news papers.





 
Mrs. Dolly D’souza, member of Women Association of Milagres led the prayer service.  Treasurer of DCCW Mrs.Linet D’souza welcomed, Mrs. Flossy Lobo president of City deanery proposed the vote of thanks and DCCW secretary Philomena D’souza compeered. The editor of Jagran news bulletin and president of Women Association of Milagres parish Mrs.Lilly Pereira, president of Pezar Deanery Mrs.Veronica D’souza were on the Dais. There were 49 participants from 15 parishes of city, Episcopal, Mangalore Southern, Bantwal and Pezar Deaneries. Delicious dinner was served to all the participants.
