Mangalore: Workshop on JEE Technology Inaugurated at AIMIT, Beeri

Mangalore: The inaugural function of workshop on JEE Technology commenced with a prayer and lighting of the lamp at the AIMIT gallery hall of St Aloysius College, Beeri here, recently. The programme coordinator Manibushan D Souza introduced the chief guest, Fr Oswald Mascarenhas. In his inaugural speech Fr Mascarenhas spoke about Cyber Safety and cited a lot of issues connected with it. He concluded stating that Cyber safety is a growing concept and is expanding in the domain of stake holders.


























Fr. Denzil Lobo the director of AIMIT spoke about the year when the first computer was installed at the institution in  1986. He attributed that to the visionary, Aubrey D’souza,  an alumnus of St Aloysius College. Fr Lobo talked about ‘a sea of change’ in the IT field that have taken place since then with the emergence of new technologies. He advised the participants of the workshop to be a part of such workshops and improve their knowledge in various changes that are taking place. He suggested that students should be trained to learn the skills of analysis and not memorizing programmes, as they usually do. He concluded by motivating the participants to bring forth new ideas.
 
Prof Santhosh Rebello welcomed the dignitaries. He talked on the vital role played by the latest technology in the growth of an enterprise and mentioned the workshop would be an opportunity to further enhance their knowledge that would enable them to train their students. He thanked all the organizers and expressed his gratitude to Fr Oswald Mascarenhas and Fr Denzil Lobo.

Fr Oswald Mascarenhas, the chairman of MBA department, AIMIT was the chief guest. Fr Denzil Lobo, the director of AIMIT,  Prof Santhosh Rebello of Bioinformatics and IT, Prof Manibushan D Souza, programme co-ordinator and Prof Santhosh B, assistant programme co-ordinator were present.

Manimozhi, senior faculty of AIMIT proposed the vote of thanks.

The inaugural session was followed by hands on practical session in the computer lab on JEE Technology.
