Udupi: Konkani Literary Workshop was inaugurated at Milagres College, Kallianpur here on Sunday November 28 by noted Konkani writter Catherine Rodrigues Katpadi.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that she began writing because of a workshop she attenderd 25 years ago. Fr Marcel Saldanha, vicar vara of Kallianpur Varado presided. Fr Vijay Lobo principal of Milagres Pre-university College was the chief guest.

Edwin J F D'Souza, executive committee member of Central Sahitya Acaemy explained about the characteristics of a good short story and participants were asked to to write a short story and it was analyzed. Dolphy Cascia spoke about drama writing and Dr Gerald PInto explained how to write a good article to a magazine.

Initially Louis D' Almeida welcomed the guests and Joseph Kiran proposed the vote of thanks. Alphonse D'Costa compered the programme. The  workshop was organized by St Aloysius Konkani Institute and Konkani Sanghatan, Udupi district.
