Mangalore: Saturday, the 19th of February 2011 was a memorable evening in the records of Samanvaya when it released yet another short Story Book in Konkani titled “Lissaumvachin Fulam” written by Mrs Sabina Lobo, London at Samanvaya Hall, Urvastores, Mangalore in the presence of noted Konkani writers of Mangalore. It is her second book, the first one being “Jivitak Lissaavn”.

Rev. Fr Joseph Martis, Rector, St. Joseph Seminary, Mangalore was the Chief Guest on the dais, and appreciated the contribution of Mrs Lobo to the Konkani culture and released her second publication “Lissaumvachin Fulam”, brought out by Samanvaya Prakashana. Rev. Fr Pius Fidelis Pinto, Managing Trustee of Samanvaya introduced Mrs Lobo to the gathering.  Mr Dolphy Lobo Cascia gave a glimpse of the new story book edited and printed by him, and wished more publications in future.  Overwhelmed with joy, Mrs Sabina Lobo expressed her feelings and gratitude to Rev. Fr Pius Fidelis Pinto, Rev Fr Ronald Cutinha and Mr Dolphy Lobo Cascia for their encouragement, support and assistance in the publication of her second book.  She also thanked Rev Fr Joseph Martis for sparing his time to be present on the occasion and release her new story book.  Rev Fr Pius Fidelis Pinto honoured Mrs Lobo and her son, Mr Walter with shawls, garlands, flowers and fruits.

Mrs Sabina Lobo, a Mangalorean, has been living in London since the last 22 years. Yet, unlike many, she has continued staying attached to her roots and to the local traditions she grew up.  With little education, she is a gifted writer. The book, “Lissaumvachim Fulam” has twenty one interesting and touching stories for kids.  The stories are worth being narrated to children by every mother.

Earlier, Rev. Fr Ronald Cutinha, Director, Samanvaya welcomed the gathering and invited Mrs Sabina Lobo and her son, Mr Walter Lobo to the dais.  Rev Fr Pius Fidelis Pinto and Mr Dophy Lobo Cascia were also on the dais along with the Chief Guest. Rev Fr Pius Pinto thanked each and every one gathered. Mr Walter Lobo also spoke few words in admiration of his mother and thanked all present for adding beauty to the event.  About 40 Konkani writers and relatives and well-wishers of Mrs Lobo and Samanvaya participated in the function.  All wished Mrs Lobo a bright future and look forward to her next publication.
